GO DOWN TO THE WOODS TODAY... December 7, 2006

It's ancient woodland vs the developers, oh yes and a massive Tesco.

Pack your carabiners, flask and wellies, it's time to get on down to (and get on up) Titnore Woods in lovely Worthing, West Sussex.

Worthing Borough Council are giving the go-ahead to plans for a 850 housing development and Tescos being built on the ancient woodland of Titnore Woods[1].

For over 9 months there has been a protest camp in the woods who argue that this is a fight to 'save the last piece of greenfield and ancient woodland in Worthing' from destruction[2].

In September, 20 activists from the camp lost their appeal against eviction[3]. Although the threat from the bailiffs is looming, forced removal could still be months away, so support is vital.
