How to end PFI
Using the private finance initiative as a means of financing public services has resulted in blatant profiteering and has imposed unsustainable levels of debt on the public bodies these schemes were supposed to benefit.
The People vs Barts PFI campaign have been researching and discussing PFIs for several years and have released a paper containing a radical proposal for how to end PFIs. The paper proposes a mechanism for nationalising the 'Special Purpose Vehicles' at the centre of all PFI schemes. It also examines the proposal to centralise and reduce PFI obligations contained in Part 4 of the NHS Reinstatement Bill.
