Challenging state and corporate impunity: is accountability possible?

Following the successful 'How Corrupt is Britain?' (2013) and 'How Violent is Britain?' (2014) conferences focusing on the abuse of power and social harms of state and corporate bodies, the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies and the Department of Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology at the University of Liverpool are hosting a third event. It will bring people together from a range of organisations to discuss how to hold state and corporate institutions to account.

What future for England's water services?

The Public Services International Research Unit (PSIRU) is holding a roundtable on “What future for England’s water services?” on 28 April 2015 in the University of Greenwich. The roundtable aims to encourage a debate as, 25 years after privatisation, England’s privatised water operators are facing rising water poverty and increasing questions over their role, while no clear policy has emerged on these issues.

Stop arming Israel - Workshop at the Anarchist Bookfair

Over 800 major drone strikes were carried out during Israel's 2014 attacks on Gaza while drones caused the most deaths during the attack on Gaza in 2012.

The Israeli drone industry is profitable as well as deadly. Israeli companies have sold drone technology to over 50 countries around the world. Israeli company Elbit is developing a British drone for the UK military.

Come and hear the stories of survivors of Israeli drone attacks and find out how you can join the campaign to make sure Elbit don't profit any further from the bloodshed they have caused in Gaza.
