Prison Island Tour
Corporate Watch is going on tour! We will be promoting our new report, Prison Island, at events across England and Wales. The events are hosted by different groups involved in either prisoner support projects or campaigning against prison expansion in their local area. Find all the details below.

Saturday 20th October – Sheffield – IWW Organising Summit

The IWW Organising Summit is an all-day event for members of the Industrial Workers of the World, a radical international union. There will be a session dedicated to prison labour and organising, of which we will share the context between prison labour and prison expansion.

Sunday 21st October – Sheffield – Community Action on Prison Expansion National Meeting

Community Action on Prison Expansion, the national grassroots campaign network, is hosting a national meeting in Sheffield. It will bring together organisers from across the country who are involved in campaigns against prison expansion.

Sunday 21st October – Leeds – Info Night

An info night with local group Yorkshire Campaign Against Prisons, putting the local campaign in a national context. Learn about plans to build a 1600 person mega-prison in East Yorkshire.

Monday 22nd October – Bangor – Info Night

An info night with Smash IPP in Bangor. North Wales was the most recent location for a mega-prison, meanwhile resistance in South Wales has created a block on building new prisons in the country. Learn about wider prison expansion and the companies profiting from these projects at this event.

Wednesday 24th October – Birmingham – Info Night

An info night with local group Midlands Anti Expansion Network, putting the local campaign in a national context. Two prisons are currently in construction in the Midlands. Learn what you can do to resist these projects.
